This is true too...I used to get upwards of 100 applicants for certain content

areas for one teaching position. Now, if I get 10 I'm feeling pretty lucky. Now, I'm finding luck hiring people who are on ARLs (Alternate Route to Licensure). I hired three last year alone. They have all been great. These people usually want to teach as a second career.
