I can’t say this fits the situation of this kid, but I did read a lengthy
explanation about Christian Pulisic facing a similar decision. His choice to stay with the local team was credited with him developing into the player he is today. Being the go to guy on a more “regular” team that sometimes went against the loaded super teams developed his game better.
If you don’t know who Pulisic is, he plays for Chelsea in the English Premier League of soccer. He may become the biggest star US soccer player ever.
