I may be in a similar situation in a couple years
My oldest is 12 and is currently the star player for his u13 select team. He’s been approached already by one AAU team and I am sure more will come as he has great height and athleticism to go along with his skill set.

I am a sports medicine doc so I know this world quite well. I turned down one son playing on Yadier Molina’s little league baseball team because the time commitment would be too much.

What you describe would be too much for me. At least 8 hours of driving a week for only 2 practices? No thanks. That takes one parent out of the picture for too long for too many unproductive minutes. I’d rather he spend those extra hours working on his game alone, working with a strength and conditioning coach, or pursuing other interests.

Unless your son is going to be 6’10” and could play ball for a living, I just don’t see it. Being the star player and handling the ball and running the show will boost his confidence and give him plenty of experience at 15. This would be too much for my son and my family.
