How does allowing low academic standards prevent racism for anyone?
It actually seems racist. "Well, black kids have a harder time in school so we have to remove barriers which are the academic standards that, as best we can, predict future academic and professional success."
Let's not turn this into a discussion on how accurate or effective the tests, or grades, are at predicting future success, but removing any kind of standard that everyone has to meet is pure stupidity. I'm all for breaking down the system but you have to replace it with something and the excuse that it's for racial equality is a blatant lie.
