Sorry, that's an obviously illogical and incorrect statement.  How about a minimum height requirement?  That would be stupid and not removing it would be pure stupidity.


I sort of like the idea of a standardized test, but which test?  How about IQ tests that measure spatial reasoning in a language-agnostic way.  A lot of students with high SAT scores would do badly on those tests.  The idea that all "smart" students will do well on any standardized test is incorrect, so the specifics of which test is the heart of the question, not simply, yes or no on a standardized test.


The question is what type of standard should exist, since it's obvious that some standards (e.g., minimum heights) are stupid.  Perhaps the more important question is who gets to decide.


This is a very valid question to discuss, and it goes way beyond race, as other demographics (e.g., social economic level) are arguably more directly affected.
