If Utah losing to UF, Penn State and tOSU is a deal killer...lol...lol...wait until you see what the other Pac-12
schools under consideration have as baggage.

I get it. That's the whole fun of BYU fans. Since Utah lost 4 games two seasons in a row...they suck. Lol. Utah is the only school not winning every game. Lol

I can't even finish writing it's so naive.

Yes...they're not Alabama. We get that. Utah will lose to better programs that have exponentially more resources. There really is no shame in that. It's ok. Still, no other lower tier P5 is winning back to back championships or dominating their division.

Dominating the south and winning by 1-2 TD MOVs. It's been 4-5 years since anyone has legitimately beat Utah at home. Utah is crushing the P12 they're supposedly inferior to on this imaginary Big 12 checklist for expansion

Ok. So you say the money is eyeballs. With cable cutters and no conference channel, markets aren't as significant. Everyone gets ESPN / FOX already. The advantage of new markets is the auto cable subscriptions. That's huge for the BTN, the original P12 network and AMZN streaming perhaps...but not for the Big 12 contract.

Big games bring eye balls. The biggest payouts come from the networks paying for top choices in matchups each week and high profile games like the CCG. "The draft" they call it.

Top ranked teams create marquee games that have national appeal. Go look at Utah's total TV ratings for entire season and postseason the last 3 full seasons and compare to the rest of the Pac-12.

Highest rated games in CFP era-- Utah vs. Oregon 2019, regular season — Utah vs. Oregon 2021, USC vs. Utah 2022.

Overall TV audiences, it's Oregon, USC, UW and Utah...no one else is even close.

I agree. Oregon and UW are markedly better candidates on paper. But they have baggage, egos and other places they're looking to be. They ain't coming.

So who exactly is the better candidate? Utah brings more excitement, viewers, larger audiences, etc.

Are more viewers going to tune in to watch 1-9 CU play #5 TCU? Or #5 TCU travel to #10 Utah?

Sure, Denver's a bigger market, but no one is interested. The latter game would have triple the audience.
