You know nothing about his personal life to judge him as an individual. I happen to know him and his family quite well, and they are great people, and strong members of the Church and community. We whiffed in not getting him as our HC. He would have had just as much success at BYU and possibly, more success than Bronco, based on his track record (beating Bronco in head-to-head matchups, BCS win, etc...).

As for the charity golf tournament, Whitt is playing the game in the tradition it was played, just as Lavell did. This is neither a depiction of his immoral character, nor an embarrasment to his school. You sound like a drama queen. Based on your sanctimonious assumptions, would you judge Lavell in the same light? Is Lavell classless too?

I probably hate the Utes more than anyone (and believe me, I have more reason than Max Hall to hate them, but that's another story). Nevertheless, I wish we had gotten Whitt to return to his alma mater and guide us to BCS glory. I think he could have done it. It pains me to say this, but I have very little confidence (but I still have lots of hope) that Bronco will be able to get us there. The way he botched the QB situation, has avoided hiring coaches with much experience (I'm hopeful that they all turn out to be phenomenal), continually loses to top25 competition, does not give me much confidence in his coaching abilities. Meanwhile, it seems that Kyle's teams routinely have huge injuries to key players and he's able to rebound well and get his teams in a position to win the conference by the end of the year. That being said.... Go cougs!
