Yeah, he wasn't "stolen"...
....when he started on McBride's staff in the 90's BYU still had a staff full of some of Lavell Edwards old cronies coaching so I don't think they were looking for any new blood. It's too bad for BYU that they didn't make room for Kyle to get him on board.
I don't know the details but I understand that his Dad had some sort of falling out with BYU so when he left coaching defense with the Rams he joined Utah's staff under McBride as the DC. Before he left to go coach for the Raiders he hired Kyle to be the LB Coach.
