However if they are unhappy or think they could have made it they could certainly transfer somewhere else.
Robles has had plenty of time to prove himself, he is a good QB but not a Chow QB. Maybe he would be great, maybe not. Christopher is the number 1 receiver for Utah and officially was classified as an athlete in High School with a recruiting picture playing basketball. I am sure playing receiver was part of the plan when he came in. Maybe as a spread QB but he has produced pleny and I don't think he balked once at playing receiver. Robles, just sucks for him but he wanted to play so LB works for him.
I think the staff at Utah has done a great job evaluating talent and getting guys in the system. Kyle has a great eye for talent and what they can do. I am sure if they are confident they can play a position Kyle will let them give it a shot but may get left behind.
Frankly I don't know why this is even an issue. Beck was great and really took almost 2 years to develop but didn't have the ability or body to move to another position. I think that example is not a great one. Robles has a body to play LB and was willing to move to that position. If he didn't want to I am sure Kyle would have put him at no. 3 on the chart and let him fight to move up.
The funny thing is from what I hear Lavell followed the same model in recruiting a lot of athletic QB's as they "were the best players on the field in HS" and made them work in other places. I am taking the word of much more elder people than I am on that.
I think a bad coach would bring guys in and be so short sighted to only leave them at one position for their entire career.
