If you take supposed deaths divided by “cases reported” you get to WP17’s death rate. But the “cases reported stat is garbage. Because hundreds of millions of people have had COVID with no symptoms and no tests. India believes 2/3rds of its population has antibodies. So the denominator is way bigger than the 200 million being reported, and the numerator (deaths) is still around 4 million, unless you are a tinfoil hat person saying people around the world are dying at home, getting scooped up by the authorities in a “bring out your dead” type scenario, and disappearing from the records without being deemed a COVID death ( ie mass graves in India, China, and Brazil).
So without even discounting for the “everything is a COVID death” mess the first few month, the chances of getting COVID and dying are incredibly low.
