Every unvaccinated person who goes to the ICU (every ICU patient in my area) increases nurse loads, overload, burnout, dissatisfaction, and leads to staffing shortages. This diminishes capacity to care for other patients appropriately. This increases risk of serious injury to those patients, increases physician burnout, departures, and can lead to further poor patient outcomes and decreased family peace and happiness. I have family members who work in this sector snd here it all the time.
So yeah, 40% not getting vaccinated because of misinformation and political grandstanding impacts me.
If you want healthcare to set up tents outside the hospital with tea and cru pets for the unvaccinated where they don’t get cared for so our system can manage other healthcare needs appropriately and let nature take its course on the misinformed, I’ll listen.
