increase. Your premise that long-term holders of property vote for every proposition that comes along because their taxes will not go up is 100% false. Their taxes go up just like everyone else's. Even homeowners who have owned their property for 30, 40, 50 years. ALL get the increase. The reason so many of these pie in the sky propositions pass is because:
1. Renters don't make the connection between their rent and an increase to property taxes on the rental they live in, and
2. There are WAAAAY more renters than owners.
3. Lastly, there are an insane amount of liberal granola eating voters (legal or otherwise) voting for every "save the whales" type bond or program funded by property owners.
It ain't old voters voting for these things.
