should be willing to educate ourselves and others about the reality of these things.
Saying in June 2020 my brother had COVID and was fine is different from saying Covid is no big deal in June 2021. There’s enough evidence available to educate oneself. I have family member who are considering pulling their fully vaccinated kids from schools because numbers are high and vaccination in our area is abysmal. Do I just say, oh, okay, you are 100% correct and justified? Or do I inform them of the super duper low chance that their vaccinated kids get it snd the much lower risk of having serious disease and therefore should consider letting their kids experience high school?
Staying silent, or worse, endorsing irrational, conspiratorial views on both sides is harmful. We need to be open, honest, and sometimes direct. Especially when we know people are working off of bad information.
Side note: it’s funny you’d say no one you know has been seriously injured and then say you’ve seen dozens die from it.
