Kid had amazing grades, did great on the ACT, lots of service and extracurricular (he was in acapella groups and choirs not sports) and he got rejected.
He went to UVU (from Denver so he moved to Utah to do it) got a 4.0 in his first year and transferred to BYU. He is now starting med school.
Even to this day we have no idea why he didn’t get initially accepted, but don’t give up on the dream, use it as a life lesson.
Your son sounds like he has a lot of amazing things going for him, I’m sure it still stings to get rejected but take a lesson from my brother in law and keep trying. If BYU is his dream school, when he makes it in it will be all the sweeter.
