I agree with what other have said, but want to add tbis
You shouldn’t feel guilty for pushing him towards BYU. Obviously I don’t know if his desire to get into BYU influenced these things, but I’m sure it helped. Look at his stats. Great GPA, great ACT. He set his standards high because BYU is a good school. He’s well rounded, and not just a “nerd.” He pushed himself in all areas to increase his chances for BYU. And most importantly, he’s lived a high standard life. He knows the importantance of the Gospel in his life. Maybe none of these things affected him at all, and I’m sure your son would have turned out great without the “BYU influence.” But if it did help push him at all, it was a good thing. You did everything right and helped prepare him for wherever he goes.
