It's too late for this year but he has a resume that is tailor made for one of
the service academies--West Point, USNA, USAFA--assuming his class standing roughly mirrors the rest. Has he considered that possibility?

The education is superior to BYU, they have better academic ratings, cost nothing, and there is much good to be said about serving one's country. There is a 5-year commitment following graduation; however, if one decides to do a five and dive, an academy degree is a great ticket into the private sector. The leadership skills and time management that are taught is simply not duplicated at BYU.

Is your son mission bound? If so, you and he should look into the academies and consider that as an alternative post mission.
