I’ve followed various families and applicants over the years
As many have on this board and, invariably, every year, there are some that get it that seemingly shouldn’t and those that don’t get in that seemingly were a shoo-in. The inexplicable happens and I’m sorry for the circumstances your family and son, in particular finds himself in.

That being said, as I’ve followed these personal narratives and paths, they all seem to work out for the best - where one young man really needed BYU or a young woman really needed to be by family at a local school due to various circumstances. Your sons path is unique to him and as he trusts in the Lord, and goes about these critical decisions with prayer, over time and experience, it’ll be clear to him why he experienced this adversity and it’ll seem like a small bump in the road when he’s able to look back. It doesn’t make it any less bitter right now. Push forward. This challenge will make him stronger, if it hasn’t already. With prayer and his persistence, he will end up exactly where he needs to be, even if that is at BYU. God bless you, you son and your family.
