Yes, I’ve been there, several times. My company had offices in Nanjing, so I
went there a lot when I lived in Shanghai. I was also the high councilor for the branch there. And I know all about Oskar Schindler, another exceptional Nazi.
But this debate isn’t about exceptional individuals, it’s about the relative evils or misdeeds of entire regimes. While a few individuals stood out in saving Jews from the Germans, the Japanese government was involved at the regime level. Not so with the case you mention here, to my knowledge.
