I watched some YouTube Y freshman videos and they said the boys aren’t that hot
So even an average looking guy can date a lot of girls normally out of his league there.
My regret from attending the Y was living in the “cool” apartments/condos when I came from much humbler homes than most of the people in my wards.
My takeaway is maybe she should consider moving to a more down to earth apartment or ward. I had no negative experience with rich kids per se, but might be worth asking her.
