same recruits. However, now they are not going head-to-head all that often, and when a player has a Utah and BYU offer now it is fairly rare that those two schools are that kid's top two choices. This is because Utah is now recruiting at a different level and in different areas due to its P12 inclusion and recent success. That's good for BYU, as Utah is dipping into the BYU pool for recruits much less frequently than it did before. I suspect that, over the past 3 years, there are very few kids who went to the U but would have gone to the Y if Utah were reeling off 4-8 seasons, but now with Utah's success BYU has a much better shot at a lot of the kids in its class because Utah isn't going after a lot of those kids. The one who is about to commit to the Y is a prime example of this, and this board will be giddy when he commits (and for good reason, he's a very good player).
