I cited the 9 wins but really I'm just trying to point out that BYU and Utah battle for recruiting in the same arena. That was the point of my original post on this thread which it sounded like you don't agree with. If we do agree on that than everything else is moot for me. Not sure how anyone could argue that is not the case when they look at the top recruits from the state of Utah every year. I just don't like to hear that I should cheer for Utah or not care how they preform because we are not even recruiting the same kids anymore. That does not check out and makes no sense.
Tafua, Anae, Bernard, Fotheringham, Nacua are all names of players who BYU had a good shot at or who came to BYU originally. Thats literally off the top of my head with no research. They all play significant minutes for Utah and they all considered BYU.
You think all those kids are staying at Utah if BYU is going 10-2 every year and is sending 3-5 players to the NFL every year? Personally I doubt it but maybe you are right and it is often about the amenities. Honestly I don't care because I still think being the 2nd best team in the state and the 2nd best team where most LDS kids go hurts us always, even with recruits that Utah is not recruiting. I don't refute that we can do a better job trying to provide what is needed to make us more attractive. I'm sure your right. All I am saying is look at the top 30 kids in Utah and both BYU and Utah are recruiting a bunch of them so don't anybody tell me that Utah preforming well does not hurt BYU.
