Someone somewhere is making the decisions to increase property taxes and those tax increases do not apply to long time owners. That much is absolutely true.
It's also true that the discrepancy is causing a lot of funky market distortions. That inevitably leads to poor decisions about property tax increases and how those taxes are spent.
