These kinds of comments always baffle me…
It’s state law that kids can enroll wherever they want. But the way, this happens state wide. It’s not just Utah County.

I’ve seen kids transfer and/or enroll at other schools for over 25 years.

Having lived in Utah, Davis and SL Counties over that period of time. Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head.

Northridge football (late 90’s) had many out of area kids on their teams.

Jaxon Dart (2018-2019) lived in either Davis or Viewmont boundaries yet chose to play for Freddy Fernandez at Roy. He transferred for his senior year as lived with family. Worked out for him.

Harvey Langi played for Copper Hills (I think) growing up but enrolled at Bingham for HS. Worked out for him.

Lehi Basketball (2021-2022) has several kids from out of area that have transferred in to play for Quincy Lewis. Quincy won a championship his first year there.

Cottonwood baseball (2010) had almost all of their starting 9 from outside their boundaries. They lost in the championship game.

American Fork baseball (2022) has at least 3-4 players that don’t live in their boundaries. They won last year and will probably win this year.

Lone Peak Basketball/Football (2011-2013) held on to Talon Shumway after he moved into Bingham’s boundaries. He won a few championships.

Need we discuss the Skyline football teams of the 90’s? They won a several championships.

Not all situations are the same. Some work out for the players and some do not. I personally don’t like open enrollment. I followed the bill when it was proposed. It passed and here we are.

If anyone can correct the above please do. Those are just off the top of my head.
