This is silly; you're taking this way too personal

I was in Kaysville last week with a brother, looking at a used car. Some of my best friends (kids from a family I grew up with) moved to Kaysville and went to Davis high. I'm familiar with the area.

I'm also extremely familiar with Utah County. The areas that are athletically thriving are the areas that have both 1) money and 2) high school families. That's why Timpanogos (older population) and Mountain View (no money) struggle in spite of Orem's success. It's also why Timpview and Bingham are starting to fall off - they have plenty of money, but their populations are aging and the families that were supplying HS students every 2-3 years are turning into empty-nesters.

The schools with populations south of Orem don't have nearly as many SLC or Draper jobs, and the difference in money really shows. Springville, Salem Hills, Spanish Fork, and Payson are a good 15 years behind the north end of Utah County, but I'm sure that that area will eventually enjoy a boom time of its own. HS sports are cyclical.

Don't take it too hard that Davis is down. Your students aren't as honorable as you think, and all this whining is a really bad look, but your time will come.
