It’s not that they don’t allow it, but the culture here isn’t transfer
to “get playing time” kind of crap.

You have to jump through the same hoops, but a kid from Bountiful would rather jump off a bridge then switch to Viewmont. There’s way too much culture up here around your high school to do that traitorous stuff.

As you point out, the domination of high school sports by Utah county teams isn’t because the water is better down there. There’s a culture of moving your kid around so they can “get playing time” and that results in making super teams that then snowball into the exact kind of disparity that makes state tournaments formalities, not competitive.

But i’m salty. It’s been a long season.
