I'm an engineer. I make a decent living. We have four kids, and my wife doesn't have to work, which is a blessing. And my personality just screams "natural engineer." Overall, I think I picked a good field to go into.
But man, if I could do it over again, I would've gone to dental school. I know a number of dentists, and they all have the life that I always wanted. Ability to set your own hours for the most part. Lots of stability both in what you're doing and when you're doing it. And making way more money than I'm making now.
Kudos to all you Cougarboard dentists. You guys had the foresight that I didn't have.
Tell me what stinks about being a dentist, though, so I can feel better about myself and my career choices and having to go into work early so often on mornings like this.
My old man tried to steer me into medical school (not dental, but similar). I kind of resented him for it. In hindsight, though, I should've listened to him.
