Pine Walk-on
Hard to pick a specific number. We had a good financial advisor that worked with
us for 30 years. They are well worth it. I was very unusual because we lived well below our means. We were very comfortable but careful. My kids tease me now because of the many times I told them we just couldn’t do many of the things their friends did because we didn’t have that kind of money. They had no idea what I was bring home and investing. I also had a low overhead practice. Many waste a lot of money on every new bell or whistle.

I do what I want now, but have been surprised how little we spend. I have found that most of the things that make me happy aren’t high cost. My best advice is get a financial guy you can trust and be careful to distinguish between wants and needs. Live within your means and save a fair amount. I lived by Marvin J Ashton’s “One for the money”. It served me well
