Retired 2 1/2 years ago. Was good for me. Told my two sons to stay away
Cost of school is out of control now. Debt has become a real issue for most recent grads. Government regulation drove me nuts at the end. Overhead has increased much faster than take home pay for most. Staff issues can be a nightmare. Finding good employees is getting very difficult. Unrealistic patient expectations will keep you up at night. Fear of unfounded lawsuits makes for some sleepless nights. You lose either way. Bad backs and necks are common at my age. For me, the change in ethics became very obvious and disappointing at the end. Young guys were all about the money, not the patients. It served me well and I have no regrets, but just like my sons, I wouldn’t recommend it highly now. Cost benefit ratio doesn’t work when compared with other options out there.
