My best friend and uncle are dentists. They both hate it.
Now they are both enviably wealthy and it is hard to feel bad for them. Every time I talk to my friend he says he doesn't know if he can do it any longer and wants to go teach. He is in corporate dentistry and it is really profit driven.
My uncle has his own practice and voices his displeasure less but it is still fairly frequent.
From what I can tell is being a dentist seems like it is insanely stressful. I am an accountant and can be stressed parts of the year but these guys always seem stressed. I have thought maybe I should have tried to become a dentist walking through their houses. But I work from home and most of the year my day to day only has like 3-5 real hours of work(being generous).
