How much assets would you recommend for comfortable retirement? I'm assuming

you were self employed and had to fund your own retirement which is the same situation I'm in. My retirement number just keeps increasing as the years go by but I'm not sure what's necessary or reasonable. Is 4 mil. not including a paid for home enough?
