but to wonder if the people on here are really fans is somewhat a problem for me. I understand it might have been a joke, and I need to have tough skin.

But to me for the most part this board is what BYU wants, fans talking about BYU, non-members engaging with us that are fans, other team fans coming on here and for the most part having a good time and leaving here with a good feeling about BYU and their fans.

I understand that the church wants to control everything that has its name on it, but in this case and most others it can't. I have a friend living in the Louisville area and there is a missionary out there and he doesn't want to be there, so he told some investigators that he doesn't want to be there, he is only there because his parents want him and will buy him something. My wife grew up in Northern Maine and trust me there were missionaries there not doing all they should, and in some cases more harm to the church.

I am not saying this is the same exact thing, but there are times that I am sure BYU and some of us are embarrassed about what is said and goes on here. However for the most part this is a great interaction site for non-members both BYU fans and other team fans. I would hope they see it for that and concentrate on that.

Just like for the most part the missionary program is a positive even when you have missionaries that say and do things not in line with what the church teaches. I hope that the powers that be realize that and support us just like the ROC loves us and what we bring to BYU.
