Allow me to correct your ignorance
Title IX make no such claim about dollars spent on male sports vs female sports. It is on the individual level and availability of scholarships. BYU football spends significantly more money on their program as a whole than likely the entirety of female sports. Their equipment alone costs significantly more than almost every other sport. But just as many female scholarships are made available, and they are given the same quality of equipment, similar amenities when traveling etc.
And seeing as you are not a speaker for your church, you really have no say in whether or not money is or isn't a waste. Even though I don't believe in your religion, I can make the argument that maybe your god has a grand scheme where spending more money on football results in millions of extra converts, or maybe converting someone super special etc.
