I dont think this needs to be explained ,but simply a group of mainly likemunded people will gravitste toward and admit a similar population of students. With that much power the admission committeecan easily stsrt turnong BYU's student body into whatever THEIR ideal is. Eliminating diversity or marginalizing a population based on personal bias is super dangerous.
