There's more and more evidence piling up that acceptance to BYU is little more

than a roll of the dice these days due to so many qualified applicants. I've realized that I'll have to prepare my kids for that, and help them understand that while it's critical to check off all the boxes it's not guarantee. The qualifications will earn you a lottery ticket, not a train ticket. So we'll have to have back-up plans in place. Kids should realize that there's no need to take a BYU rejection too hard.
