Higher yield doesn't necessarily mean better academics

I know it's sacrilege, I'd take the university with the med school, multiple PhD programs and more research $ over the one that was a community college not terribly long ago if I were going for academics. Of course I took BYU over either of those in reality so I should still be fine.
