Rental income is, on average, less than the mortgage payment and mtx cost.

So the cash flow is still negative, which means the returns will be inferior to the no cash flow scenario I listed.

Now if you find an unusually good home that has significant positive cash flow, and you compare that to the average stock, you obviously get a different result than comparing an average home to an average stock.
