You're saying a reasonably intelligent person can make money in real estate. I totally agree.

I simply said that over the past 50 years, investing in an average stock generated a better return than investing in the median home did. Nothing you wrote refutes that idea.

I'm not saying you can't make money in real estate. Of course you can. Lots of people have. I'm just saying that if history is any guide, the median stock will outperform the median home.

Your response essentially is "well then don't buy the median home - buy something better". That's fine. We might not totally agree on how easy that is to do, but it has nothing to do with whether the median home has historically beaten the median stock.
