I am very certain if any of you who are complaining spent a few days answering the phone calls that BYU admissions receives each and every day, you'd change your mind quickly. The problem is that so many LDS families believe BYU is the only university that their children should attend. A portion of these parents will take some of the most desperate, absurd positions to get their kids into BYU, and they will pester the administration office incessantly to achieve this goal. It's like those parents who push their sons to Eagle Scout status before age 15 multiplied by about 1,000. Parents and tactics like this are not used to get kids into BSU, or USU, or UVU, or the other schools being compared to BYU. It's unique to a school seen by many parents are some sort of necessary path for their bright children. Just keep that in mind before you judge the good people who work for BYU.
