Degrees like history, philosphy, humanities, etc. are fine!
Every stay at home mom should have one! (Seriously, I jest)
Generally speaking, the more technical your degree is, the more valuable you will be in the workplace. It's no coincidence that the top 15 most valuable degrees are almost exclusively science and/or engineering degrees.

As a fairly die-hard libertarian, I believe people should be free to study whatever subject(s) they want. That said, I think people should understand that going into tens of thousands of dollars of debt in order to earn a humanities degree is a poor financial decision. The potential monetary benefit just isn't worth the cost.
