Explain even one of the other teams that got included?
I think it helps justify it in a fans mind (public opinion) particularly for those 2 but I don't think it mattered much at all for the conference commissioner, the school presidents or the AD's on why those teams were actually selected.
And I'm sure that some of our fans will hold that up as a reason we were not invited (also a reason to blame our non-inclusion on our coach) as a way to pacify our wounds....but not winning enough was not a reason BYU has not gotten into a BCS/P5 conference.
