So many issues with what you said.
"If you committed a serious transgression, it doesn't matter if you work for the Church or not, it can affect your job." First, you can lose your temple recommend for not so serious transgressions, like drinking coffee. And many of the "sins" that would cost you a temple recommend are considered perfectly normal in mainstream society and certainly wouldn't cost you your job. The Church can require a temple recommend for employment but let's not try and act like that is normal in society. It isn't.
