IMO, it doesn't really matter what the intent of the person is.

The institutional policy is out of line. I agree with the professor here that it is hypocritical for a school hosting a freedom of religion event to have a policy in place that goes against freedom of religion.

Dislaimer: I'm not an activist, I don't really care about this stuff. But I'm just giving my opinion as a 3rd party objective observer.
