I understand what yo are saying, but it isn't the same. By choosing to
remove your name from the records of the Church, you are, in fact (or most likely at the least) rejecting and denouncing it.
There's lots of active Mormons that don't believe that don't feel the need to remove themselves from the records of the Church. You can do this without being intellectually dishonest.
