I said my wife would make a good socialist. Calm down.
It was funny. She asked questions and I explained contract law to her, the burdens that landlords have, and a number of other things that she didn't consider. My wife and I laugh with each other all of the time. Humor is good. She still thinks that landlords should waive April rent if the kids move out. I still think she would make a good socialist. She voted for Obama, but fortunately I convinced her not to vote for Bernie.

You are flying way off of the original OP. You don't know my wife. Trust me, she would be a good socialist.

If you don't like the words "honoring the terms of the contract", pick the word you want. How about "following, or keeping, or living with" the terms of the contract. I really don't see the difference, but if that helps you, I am OK with it. This exchange is a great example of why we don't rely on handshakes anymore and need everything in writing.

You suggest you want a compromise, yet what you propose are one sided concessions by the landlords. That isn't a compromise. If property tax or utility costs doubled would you "compromise" and pay more rent than your contract calls for starting in the middle of the year? I wouldn't do that either. The whole reason for a contract. Contracts define the rights and obligations of all the parties to the contract. Nothing more, nothing less.

I will plead guilty to using "wannabe socialist" and "good socialist". Part of why I did that was because I said my wife would make a good socialist and you flew off on a completely different thought process that was completely unrelated to my post. Do you remember?

Clearly you don't know my wife, but my post that you reacted to so strongly isn't inaccurate, nor ridiculous...she would make a great socialist. She loves giving thing out. She loves government handouts. She doesn't think about the long term implications of these types of things. She understands, but doesn't think about them when it helps people. You took that post waaaaay too personal.

You think landlords should give out a freebie, a concession, a gift. I don't. We each have our reasons for those positions. Does that sum it up?
