where BYU is clearly better than the U. That list is hardly exhaustive of all the programs, and the one department I am in is much better than the one at the U, and like I said, it is not even close. I am not sure why you are being so hostile about this. I have freely admitted that the U is a fine institution and that it has some excellent programs. What I have lamented is that BYU, for whatever reason, is just not allowed to be part of the conversation. Maybe it is because we just do not look like all of the other schools that carry so many graduate programs. Maybe it is because of the distinct nature of trying to combine excellent undergraduate education with a research mission. Add all of this to the religious nature of the school, and you get an institution that just looks like it does not fit. I am sorry if I offended you in any way. That was not my intention. I have always enjoyed your posts, even though your sig picture is always a little difficult to look at! 🙂
