yeah... because personal fouls, and all out brawls at the end of games (players sucker punching other players in the back of the head, players swinging helmets at other players) are exactly the same level of bad. There was also the nutpunch incident, and then there is Nick Emery.

Either way, even if the Utes were just as dirty as BYU teams of the recent past (not this year's BYU team as far as I can tell), it's easier for me to be okay with. Let me explain: When BYU athletes do something dirty, it reflects negatively on my religion. When a Ute player does something dirty, it reflects negatively on me in the sense that I cheer for that team, a far less personal connection for me. Maybe you cherish the reputation of your football team as much or more than that of your religion, but I don't.

I don't hate BYU as a school. I don't hate BYU fans. I don't hate BYU players. I don't hate BYU coaches... I just wish BYU sports didn't exist. In my opinion, it would be better for our religion if it didn't... Though my opinion in that respect is changing now that the dirty play seems to have subsided for the most part if not completely.
