They came so close to losing...
Chase Roberts last year that it is ridiculous and should have never even been close to that. A BYU kid since birth with a dad that played there, same as Ritchie, in fact Richie's dad and Roberts dad played there together, these kids should be slam dunks but BYU somehow makes them not be slam dunks.
Case in point with Roberts, got the commitment from his then basically ignored him. Meanwhile Utah was after him hard, Wittingham calling him after every game knowing his exact stats and congratulating him on the game, going to the school every week, visiting him at his house frequently, DM's on twitter daily, just putting in the time and showing him the love.
BYU will not do that but that is what it takes for many of these kids.
