Think a lot of people get into the mindset of what they'd do

If I had a football player, I would highly hope that they'd end up at BYU regardless of the offers

But there are 2 points here

1) Most kids in high school want to hear that they are loved and needed. That's just a fact of life. Most people thrive off of validation. Depending on the player's position and the coach assigned to recruit either by position or territory, it also sounds like the experience with BYU can be vastly different.

2) A parent's love for their child is going to trump their loyalty to a school 10 out of 10 times. A kid may not feel like the scheme is a good fit, they may see a lot of depth in front of them, the academics may be more than they want, they may even wanna just grow out their hair or live outside of the state. Bottom line is you can hope for a 17 or 18 year old to follow the plan you want for them, but many times that's not what they will end up with.

In your case obviously,  you've laid out here the path for your boys and the whys of what they've done and most think it's very well thought out. One think I would like to know: I do think it seems like we primarily hear the BYU is not recruiting me hard enough on those closest to the school at least hearerecently and wonder whose assigned that area.
