Feel this is the case a lot of times. Sometimes BYU makes the "finalist" list out of respect or to please Mom & Dad
but the player's got his sight set on some place with more flash. I'd hope BYU doesn't spend too much time on that kind of recruit when more realistic ones may come with the right amount of attention. I also think there are times when a kid is plenty good enough and would come & deserves a scholarship but the timing doesn't line up with the current players, class, & position. There's no shame & no disrespect intended in that situation. Think even CoachSpeak would say that was a big factor with his son's recruitment w/ BYU.
