honestly, I saw a little of it but nowhere to the level that is reported on Cougarboard. Not saying it hasn't happened as others have stated - just that it's not necessarily ubiquitous. In any event, it really didn't bother me. Sort of like normal life - some people will like me because of who I am, some won't, and many I'll be good friends with even if they aren't fans of my church or religion.
Also, there are a ton of LDS kids at Utah, and a good portion of those are active based on the institute numbers. Thousands. So, in some real sense, what you're talking about isn't representative of the place as a whole. It's one of many aspects. And again, it doesn't bother me personally most of the time where everyone doesn't think or act like me, or even actively dislikes me for what I think are stupid reasons. But that's just me.
